We're Online, We're Distancing, We're Learning, TOGETHER

FOR

Thanks to Google MEET we have been able to connect with each other again for Term 2.
We have been "MEETing" with each other at 11am each day
and it has been
so good
to see each other again!

We have been working on our Online Distance Learning Programme on our Rimu Team Site as well - check out all the Rimu Team Individual Student blogs for all the kinds of things we do!

Each day on our MEET we have a
Focus and a Challenge.

Our First FOCUS was 'Connection' and our CHALLENGE was a Quiz.

On Thursday our FOCUS was 'Understanding our Learning' and our CHALLENGE was going to be a Scavenger Hunt (but Grid View wnet down so we had to change it to...)
...Signing into Google MEET using a nickname instead of a link.

Today's FOCUS was a 'Reflection on our week' and our CHALLENGE was a PET DAY!
We all brought our pets and introduced them
(well, those of us that have them did, and everyone else chose to just watch and listen...
...no one chose to bring a pet rock this time 😢)

Here we all are on our MEET (it took a few goes to get a screenshot sorted!)

And here are our pets -

How have you been connecting with your class during Term 2 in lockdown?

Do you use Grid View on Google MEET?
Is it working for you?

Miss Rennell's dog Molly showed us this video of her friend too,
singing about LOVING LOCKDOWN 🤣

Do you think your pets will be sad when we all go back to school?

  1. Hi Rimu Team,

It is so great to see you learning together online! We are enjoying using Google Meet too and love your idea of pet day. It was great to see some of the different pets that attended from the slide show as well. Keep up the fantastic learning!

  2. Kia Ora, Rimu Team. My name is Millah and I go to Grey Main School (well, not at the moment) .
I have read your post and it sounds like you are having fun doing online school. I also like that you have had a pet day. Maybe next time you could do 1 post a day of what you have been doing. I would like to see the other fun things you get up to so I could suggest them to my teacher.

Keep up the good online work.
    Goodbye - Millah

  4. Kia Ora Rimu! It's Sam (The one and only) here!

Google meet sounds cool. Here at Aidanfield we use Microsoft, so we normally call using Microsoft Teams.

It's nice to find out about a new thing that you can use to call others, there are SO MANY things these days that you can call others on!

Maybe next time you could have some of those photos in one big document so that we don't have to keep scrolling. Apart from that? AMAZING job!

Looking forward to maybe visiting again!

    Bye!

    Sam

    P.S. How is everyone doing?
