Rimu stood up to Bullying!

Last Friday was Pink Shirt Day. A day where people all around New Zealand wear pink to show that we don't tolerate bullies in our playgrounds, classrooms or workplaces.

Rimu was no exception.

We don't think that bullying is ok. In fact, our class treaty has a number of agreements that talks about how we should treat each other. We review this treaty regularly to remind us of what is expected.

Sometimes we do forget. Sometimes we aren't kind and caring towards each other. But we know that we need to keep learning this. The thing that helps us with this lesson is the adults in our lives modelling kindness and caring towards the people around them. And thankfully our parents do.

They also support us by giving us their pink things to wear.

Don't we look SUPER!

Did you wear pink on Friday? What do you do to stop bullying?

  1. Kia Ora Rimu Class,
It is so nice that your class has supported the people who have been bullied. We also did pink shirt day if you have seen our post on our blog you can tell we did.

Did you guys do any fun activities!?! Did you share pink food? because fun fact our class did and it was so delicious!!

My answer to your questions are:
Yes I have answered that question! and To stop bullying is too think first before you do things that will keep you into trouble!

Anyways, You guys looked like you had fun! Hope we can gather up and think about the people who have been bullied and gave up their lives.

    Amazing Post,
    Zipporah

Wow! You shared pink food?! What kind of food did you share?
Yes bullying is very wrong and it should be stopped. Plus that is a smart idea to think before you do its pretty much the same as think before you speak.

  3. Kia Ora Rimu Class!
I really like your blog post!
I find it interesting how you added your class treaty, that was very creative to show us it!

You class treaty reminds me of our class treaty cause it looks like yours.
Your pink shirt day picture takes me back to ours!

Yes we did wear pink, almost about the whole school was covered in pink items! We all stop bullying each other because we're all friends and we stand up for each other!

  5. Talofa Lava Rimu Class,

This post was incredibly heart touching, I loved how the class of Rimu wore pink to celebrate Bullying free day and to help those who bully to stop. Pink shirt day was the day I was at camp so unfortunetly I wasn't able to wear pink nor celebrate free bullying day. The treaty was super helpful, incredible, amazing and of course an awesome way to help those who bully. Fantastic work for celebrating this Rimu class, I hope to see more amazing work soon.

What was your favorite part about bully free day?

    Thanks heaps,
    Hinerangi
