School netball on Sunday ... what?!

On Sunday the Year 5/6 Netball Team, with their fantastic coach Mel, headed to Hagley Park Netball Courts for a tournament. 6 games of Netball from 10 - 2 was the aim. Everyone was very excited and very colourful.

Tutus, unicorn headbands and strippy socks were the uniforms and everyone had brought their big smiles. These girls played with their hearts and it was a pleasure to watch. The cheerleaders on the sideline were clapping and cheering the team along as they played. It was really great to have so many parents and grandparents there watching.

Mel is a wonderful coach. We are so lucky to have a parent committed to organising the group to go along to this, as well as coming into school twice during the week to do extra training. We can really see the difference in their playing because of this.

WE LOVE NETBALL!

I'm guessing it's the rainbow tournament!! I also went but didn't get to verse you because I am year 7.
We won 1 game out of the 6 six.
It is cute to see you guys in the pretty cute tutus. That's what we also wore. I also play for Hornby Netball.

  2. Kia Ora Zipporah,

It was the Rainbow Tournament! Wasn't it so colourful and wonderful to see all the different outfits? I loved seeing the creativity as I walked to find the team.

Well done on winning a game. We didn't win any, but it doesn't matter because it was so much fun.

Thanks for commenting on our blog Zipporah.

  3. Kia ora Rimu Class,

Miss Tozer from Hornby High School here. I really enjoyed reading about the tournament that you participated in. I love the costumes that you are all wearing. The video and photos made your post very interesting. Was it hard to play netball in costume? I am glad you had lots of fun playing. Do you think you will go again next year?

Thank you for sharing about your tournament experience.
    Miss Tozer.
