You are amazing! Well done! Did you have to do lots of training before hand to get ready for it? Dunedin is very hilly so was it a flat track or did you have to run up and down hills? A marathon is hard enough but a marathon on hills eek no lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat! I trained for 4 months - about 4-5 times a week, bit harder in the Winter...gotta get it in before it gets dark! It was pretty flat actually, starting at The Albatross Colony and all the way round to Port Chalmers. There was a huge hill at 38km that I walked up! It was pretty windy though - a beautiful course, but windy! Would you do one?!
DeleteIn one word nope lol I could walk one maybe but never run, I'm not that fit or have that much motivation. Plus with all the training you have to do is true dedication and I don't think I have that much to get blisters and sore muscles lol. So I take my hat off to you and take a bow and again say you are amazing and well done!
DeleteGreat effort guys. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolyn! See you on the course next year?!
DeleteGreat effort guys. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAh......No, I would bike or swim the distance of a marathon but not run. I'll come down and watch you. What is the distance of a marathon Ruth ?
ReplyDelete42.2km.
Deletewow that was amazing to see your runing the 28km
ReplyDeletewow wow
Thanks Lucy!
DeleteDid you like doing the run? l think most people couldn't do that
ReplyDeleteHi Jesse, it was tough, but a good challenge and that's what I enjoyed. Would you like to do a long run when you get older? (You get to eat heaps after.)
DeleteMiss Blair :)
That run must have been hard. Training for it must have been difficult. Are you going to do it next year as well?
ReplyDeleteYou must really like running, if you could do anything different during the run what would you change and why? Also, what was your favorite part of the run?
