Gumboot Friday

Our Rimu students thought the idea of supporting 'Gumboot Friday' to be a great one. They loved the idea that by being involved they would get to swap their normal school shoes for a pair of gummies and that they would be helping to raise awareness and funds for children living with mental health issues. They were equally excited that all the money they raised would go to Mike King's charity "I Am Hope."

Others around New Zealand are putting on their gumboots today. The organisers are hoping to raise $2 million dollars and we have helped them. Have you taken part in Gumboot Friday?

Here are some of our gumboot models.

  2. It is heartwarming to know that YMS students can participate in a fun event which supports people who are learning to cope with life's challenges. Staying positive about life can be a challenge sometimes but it is always a challenge worth pursuing. Well done to everyone who took part.
