For the past 6 weeks the Year Sixes did a collaborative painting, 'A starry night' By Vincent van Gogh. We all used different techniques on the paper to make a cool effects on the paper. we chose different size brushes to create different patterns. We used SOLO to describe our learning and my thinking is Multistructural because I can describe several things about van Gogh's painting skills. My next step is Relational so I can describe several things about van Gogh paintings and explain why I used this skill in this way. It was so fun and I really enjoyed it!
By Grace King, Year 6.
I have stood less than a metre form the original in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris and I can tell you have put a great deal of effort into your facsimile. This is obviously a labour of love. What a wonderful way to explore the stylings of an artist. I look forward to your relational musings. Do you think that van Gogh did indeed capture the beauty of Nuit étoilée?

Hi Grace
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed looking at your post and liked how you put the blob in about. It has heaps of texture, colour and detail. Maybe next time you could use one big piece of paper or wood.
