What a great day at the Eco Depot!

We enjoyed our hands-on learning experience today. 
Our programme was called 'Fertilising for the Future'

  4. That day was so fun I would be happy to do that again! We got splint into 4 groups I was with Katie, Jorja, Emily, Isabelle, Nikita and I. I learned how to make a compost bin and that tiger worms are the tip of worms that are for a worm farm!

  6. I learn't that there are over 200 different type of worms, and that if you hold a worm with your hands dry they wriggle around because it stings them, like lemon juice in a cut.

  7. The tiger worms are the worm farm worms, the little yellow stone like things are the eggs and how to make a worm farm.

  8. One thing I will take away from the day we spent at the eco depo was how when we had to mix worm pee with water and touch worms the words abhorrent, anathema, odious, repugnant had never been more fitting in my life.

  9. I learnt that worms eat apples and veges and fruit. they can't eat hot food and spicy.

  12. I learned how to put the layers on the compost bin grass, bark, water, heat ect.

  13. I learnt all about worm farms, they like to live in moist habitats and help the plants grow really well.

  14. I learnt how to make a compost bin and a worm farm.I learnt that worms cannot eat acidic food like lemons, onions, oranges and spicy food. I had a great time there.

  15. I learnt that Tiger Worms like moist conditions, and that you can line your organics bin with newspaper to keep it clean.
