Too often New Zealand is left off maps but this time it is centre of attention in a beautiful fly by video from space courtesy of the International Space Station.
The video on YouTube channel AstronautiCAST covers from Stewart Island to the lower North Island before cloud cover obscures the upper North.
Epic views of the South Island shows dense colours with rivers and mountain ranges clearly visible, all with a backdrop of a lingering sunset.
The footage was taken by the Italian Association for Astronautics and Space.
